Plant Transport
Van Dooren Transport (since 1895) has a long history that originated at the end of the 19th century in the ‘De Bollenstreek’ in Holland. The company is still a close-knit family business with generation 5 currently at the helm. In addition to our specialization in the transport of flower bulbs, we also offer the conditioned transport of plants. From plant cuttings (Youngplants) to perennials. From garden plants to houseplants. With locations in Hillegom (South Holland), Breezand (North Holland) and Nieuw-Bergen (Limburg), our company has good coverage of all production and sales areas of plants in the Netherlands. Our location in Limburg is used for cross-docking shipments to Germany.
National plant transport
We transport plants from nurseries to auctions and export trading companies in Holland. Our clients are mainly trading companies and plant growers and breeders. In addition to direct trade between growers and trading companies, we drive daily to/from the well-known auctions in Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk, Rijnsburg, Eelde, Rhein-Maas (D).
International plant transport
Van Dooren Transport specializes in the international transport of plants. And a specialty within plant transport is the ‘sensitive’ transport of Youngplants. Temperature sensitive, but care is also needed when loading and unloading the often delicate cuttings. We are well aware that our drivers are also your calling card. That is why we expect customer friendliness and professional competence from our Dutch drivers. Because our conditioned trucks are equipped with tailgates, our drivers can often save themselves at your customer’s location.
Our specialization is mainly in Germany, but we also operate on a promotional or dedicated basis to Belgium, Switzerland and/or Northern France.
E-Commerce / Mail Order
From our history, we drive for many large mail order companies specialized in houseplants and garden plants. Our customers have seen the market change from mail order to E-commerce in recent years. Not an easy task to deliver living products very quickly and in good condition throughout Europe. Because we provide transport for various major players in this market, we can make many combinations and therefore switch quickly.
Plantpromotions
Van Dooren Transport is strong in distributing plant promotions to supermarkets, hardware stores and garden centers, mainly in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
Collection center
At our location in Hillegom we have the capabilities to process large promotions. With 5,000 m2 of logistics space and 10 loading docks, we can collect, group and deliver your actions in a very efficient way. The central location in Hillegom (NL 2182) between Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg offers interesting options in terms of transport and rates.
Control Tower
We can manage your systems through: Link APIs to our Control Tower. This Control Tower connects to our TMS (Transport Management System), WMS (Warehouse Management System) or packaging administration. The Control Tower links order statuses, loading and unloading times, digital signatures and E-CMR back into your systems.
Van Dooren Transport APP
You and your customer can use the Van Dooren Transport APP for free. With this APP, shipments can be specified, order statuses can be viewed, and shipments can be followed via Track & Trace. Handy for your people in the warehouse and on the loading and unloading floor. In addition, you can authorize national shipments digitally using: Contactless signing. The driver signs on his mobile device and you and/or your customer signs on your mobile device or PC.
Conditioned transport
All our plant transport is conditioned. Plants are mainly transported between 8 and 15 degrees.
