The two flower bulb transporters will integrate the planning and execution of flower bulb transport this summer season. After years of collaboration through the exchange of freight, the two companies have decided to centralize their flower bulb planning. This integration will enable them to carry out transport more efficiently. Van Dooren Transport will be responsible for management, planning, and administration. To continue to guarantee service and quality, AB Texel will continue to provide trucks and drivers during the bulb seasons.

Barrel Logistics

In 2008, Van Dooren Transport took a major step towards processing barrel orders more efficiently. The company stocks barrels from over 50 export and trading companies in its warehouse in Hillegom. This allows it to pick approximately 75% of barrel orders from its own inventory. More efficient barrel logistics, fewer vehicle kilometers, and shorter waiting times during export are the foundation of this. By integrating AB Texel's customers into this system, both parties will achieve efficiency gains and increase service levels and delivery reliability.

Flower Bulb Logistics

Flower bulb logistics will again be a key focus during the coming summer season. The smaller shipments from the growers in the Northern Sand Area will be grouped and shipped to the various trading companies. This logistics system will improve the load factor of both companies' trucks, resulting in fewer vehicle movements. In concrete terms, this means fewer trucks on the site, more efficient deployment of personnel, and shorter waiting times during loading and unloading. And, importantly… lower CO2 emissions from flower bulb transport.

Van Dooren Transport & AB Texel are convinced that this collaboration represents a step forward towards more efficient, professional, and environmentally friendly flower bulb transport.
