In early 2013, during an editorial meeting at Bollenstreek Intobusiness, it was suggested that, as part of this element of CSR, an inventory be made of companies that are visibly socially engaged. The editorial team thought it would be a good idea to approach business and friends clubs of sports associations and social institutions for this purpose.

Due to the unexpectedly low number of responses from that sector, the editors decided to expand the survey. Ultimately, they asked exactly 800 companies and institutions to compile a TOP 5 list of the most socially engaged companies in the Duin- en Bollenstreek region. The editors were pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm with which entrepreneurs responded. This shows that companies care about each other. The editors received no fewer than 403 submissions in which 273 companies were mentioned at least once. With so much competition, it is a real achievement to be included in the TOP 25.
