Van Dooren Transport, Forwarding en Techniek   baseline;">2  Neutral!!!

From 1 May 2015, the buildings of Van Dooren,  behind the Water Tower in Hillegom 100% CO₂  Becoming neutral by installing 1008 solar panels that will generate ¼ megawatts of energy. The buildings that house Van Dooren Transport, Van Dooren Forwarding, and Van Dooren Techniek will be 100% self-supporting in terms of electricity. The offices are heated and cooled by electric heating/air conditioning and therefore do not run on gas. This investment also means that all forklifts, electric ride-on trucks, and electric pallet jacks used in the trucks will be charged with solar energy. Our customers' shipments are therefore truly 100% CO₂  Neutrically stored and transhipped, loaded and unloaded.

Electric trucks

“We have chosen to invest heavily in power production. This is because we only see the need for electricity growing in the future. Increasingly heavy shipments and maintaining good staff health require more electric pallet jacks that need to be charged every day. And we see battery quality improving and battery costs decreasing in the foreseeable future. It will therefore also be interesting to explore the possibilities of using electric trucks for regional work. And that means a cleaner flower bulb region!”, says Alex van Dooren

Maintenance & APK

The truck & trailer technology department will also generate all its energy itself. 100 panels will be installed in the workshop, which will generate plenty of the energy used for maintenance, repairs, and MOTs (periodic vehicle safety inspections) of Van Dooren Transport's fleet. The car wash will also be electrically powered, making washing the fleet even cleaner.
